Scientific Director of the Instituto Biofisika since August 2017. He earned his BS in Biological Sciences and MS in Biochemistry from the University of Basque Country and the PhD in Biochemistry from the same University. He did postdoctoral research at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) working on viral fusion. His research has been focused on this topic since then.
