Edurne Rujas is an Ikerbasque Research Fellow at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Since 2023, she has been a part of the "Fundación Biofísica Bizkaia" where she leads the Antibody Engineering Group. Her research focuses on the engineering of novel antibody-based biotherapeutics for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases. Before joining the IBF, she was a Marie-Sklodowska Curie postdoctoral fellow for three years at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. During this time, she developed a platform for the multimeric display of antibodies, resulting in extraordinarily potent molecules. This work laid the foundation for establishing the biotech company "Radiant Biotherapeutics". Her research work has been published in prestigious international journals, including Nat. Commun., PNAS, and Sci. Transl. Med., and has resulted in over 8 intellectual property contributions.
