Helena Ostolaza

Her research is focused on membrane-acting toxins, particularly in two toxins from the RTX (Repeats in Toxin) family, α-hemolysin from Escherichia coli and adenylate cyclase from Bordetella pertussis. Our efforts are focused on studying the structural requirements of the toxin for this transformation from the soluble to the membrane-bound state to take place, as well as the parameters that may modulate the interaction with the target membrane.
