Fernando Moro is a permanent researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the IBF (since 2011). He investigates the functional mechanism of human molecular chaperones and their role in the maintenance of the cellular protein homeostasis. He is particularly interested in how chaperones of the Hsp70 family reactivate protein misfolds and aggregates related to human protein diseases. Fernando has a Degree in Chemistry (1990) and a PhD in Chemistry (1996) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). His work has been published in established journals like Journal of Molecular Biology, ACS Nano, FEBS Letters and others. He has obtained funding from Spanish and Basque Government.
