Igor de la Arada is an Optical Microscopy Technician employed by the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) in the Advanced Light Microscopy Facility (BRALM). He is an expert in optical microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. Igor received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the same University, followed by a 2-year postdoctoral stay, financed by the Postdoctoral Program of the Basque Government, at the Institut für Biophysik of the Goethe University Frankfurt. After receiving a Marie Curie grant to return to the Instituto Biofisika, he joined the Microscopy Facility as Optical Microscopy Specialist.
