Helena Ostolaza

She earned her BS and MS in Biology in 1987 from the University of Basque Country and the PhD in 1992 from the University of Basque Country. She began as Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Basque Country, in 1997 and since 1999 she is Associate Professor. Her research has been focused on membrane-acting toxins, particularly in two toxins from the RTX (Repeats in Toxin) family, alpha-hemolysin from Escherichia coli and adenylate cyclase from Bordetella pertussis.
