She earned his BS in Chemistry and MS in Biochemistry and the PhD from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) Shee did her postdoctoral research at the EMBL (Heidelberg, Germany) working on protein folding. Her research has been focused on membrane protein folding.
