Workshop: "Dynamic modeling and statistical inference in the life sciences: philosophical and practical perspectives"
From the discovery of the structure of DNA to contemporary attempts to predict epidemic trends & understand the systemic properties of organisms, mathematical modeling played and plays a pivotal role in biological research.
We invite everybody to the workshop "Dynamic modeling and statistical inference in the life sciences: philosophical and practical perspectives", organized by the Basque Center of Applied Mathematics (BCAM) in partnership with the Biofisika Institute (IBF) that will take place on November 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2022.
Invited speakers include Kepa Ruiz Mirazo (IBF), Jose MG Vilar (IBF), Johannes Jaeger (Complexity Science Hub, Vienna), Veronica Grieneisen (Cardiff University) and Ivan Coluzza (BCMaterials). Lectures will be given by Caetano Souto Mayor (BCAM), Daniele De Martino (IBF) and Miguel Aguilera (BCAM).
The workshop will take place at BCAM the 23rd and 25th, and at IBF the 24th. To attend the workshop registration is needed. Attendance can be certified for students.
