Spanish National Radio (RNE) spoke with Manuel Fanega, criminologist and current General Manager of the Biofisika Institute, as he is one of the researchers who have deciphered for the first time the official algorithm of the Spanish prison system, the TVR, which assesses whether inmates are likely to reoffend. According to the scientists who analyzed this tool, which has been in use for 30 years, it is not scientifically validated and produces false positives.
