Félix M. Goñi at the World's Top 2% Scientists
Stanford University has recently published an update of the list of the top 2% most widely cited scientists in different disciplines, the World's Top 2% Scientists. The ranking, considered the most prestigious in the world in this area, is based on the information collected by the Scopus database and is formulated by applying different parameters related to the impact of scientific publications: number of publications, times they have been cited (mentioned) in the works published by other scientists, other indicators of the impact of their work, as well as a final indicator that combines all of the above. In addition, in order to avoid bias, the classification allows the metrics of each researcher to be compared, excluding the number of times they have cited themselves. Of the thousands researchers who appear on the list, our colleague Dr. Félix M. Goñi, former director of the Instituto Biofisika, stands on the top of it: Top 30,000 for the whole list and Top 1,500 in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology subfield.
