Mechanisms of cellular membrane remodeling

Mechanisms of cellular membrane remodeling

Eukaryotic cells are defined by their extremely complex and dynamic membrane systems. Cellular membrane systems are important hubs for many vital cellular processes. Understanding the mechanisms governing the organization of these highly dynamic structures is critical for advancing our knowledge of cell functionality. The far-reaching goal of my research is to integrate nanoscience approaches to unravel fundamental, evolutionarily conserved molecular mechanisms underlying dynamic maintenance and rapid remodeling of the shape and topology of cellular membranes, both in life and disease.
