Jorge Pedro López Alonso winner of the 'José Tormo' award

The 'José Tormo' prize awarded by the SEBBM in collaboration with BRUKER Spain has gone this year 2023 to Jorge Pedro López Alonso (Basque Resource for Electron Microscopy (BREM), Instituto Biofisika (CSIC - UPV/EHU), Leioa).

The prize distinguishes the work published by a young researcher, between June 15, 2022 and June 15, 2023, in any of the disciplines that includes Structural Biology. The work entitled "CryoEM structural exploration of catalyti-cally active enzyme pyruvate carboxylase" has been published in Nature Communications, 13, 6185 (2022). Jorge Pedro López Alonso will give the conference entitled "Unraveling Pyruvate Carboxylate Activity with cryo-EM" at the meeting of the "Protein Structure and Function" Group that will take place on Thursday, September 7, during the 45th SEBBM Congress in Zaragoza.
