Short bio

David Rodriguez-Larrea is a researcher at the University of the Basque Country, working on protein nanotechnology. He obtained degrees in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Salamanca and a PhD in Protein Physical-Chemistry at the University of Granada under the supervision of Professor J.M. Sanchez-Ruiz. He later spent five years at Oxford University working on Nanopore technology with the support of the EMBO long-term postdoctoral fellowship working with Professor Hagan Bayley. He obtained a Ramon y Cajal contract starting in 2015 at the University of the Basque Country. He started his research group to develop new technologies based on nanopore technology aiming for protein sequencing and disease diagnosis. His research has been funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the Basque Government, the UPV-EHU, and FBBVA.
